Tarlan Tabar (b. 1984, Qazvin, Iran) received her BFA in Painting from the Tehran University of Art. She has held one solo show and participated in several group exhibitions. She uses a wide variety of techniques and mediums to produce paintings and three-dimensional work, and focuses on subjects that include memory and amnesia, life and immortality, narcissism, cannibalism and ambiguity. Her work has been featured in several group exhibitions and a number of site-specific installations, and her paintings, in a solo exhibition titled “Amnesia” at Tehran’s 009821projects.
Tabar tries to be a story teller in her artworks, the colors of the painting and even the name of the painting can be a new story for audiences.
